The Kickstarter-backed smartphone’s shelf life was never expected to last forever. However the warranty support of the Nextbit Robin phone is over as of today. That’s something what was announced this morning on the Twitter. The chat and phone support will shut for the stunning and pretty looking android phone. But the software patches will continue to come through till February 2018. But, according to the admin post published on Razer Forum, the Android O will also arrive on Robin, there’s no as such guarantee for this. NextBit

Nextbit Acquisition:

For an undisclosed sum, the Nextbit was acquired by Razer in January. This acquisition made the whole Nextbit team to operate under the Razer Gaming Company as a standalone business unit. The reviews regarding the Nextbit Robin Smartphone were positive. The hardware design of the phone was very unique and well executed. However the cloud storage functionality wasn’t something worth marketing. The company was forced to cancel the CDMA version of the device immediately only after a month, that unfortunately happened because of the Rocky path forward evident. All the funds were refunded to the backers, who had backed it with funding.
