Delphi has been planning to launch its own autonomous driving solution for the car manufacturers. It’s planning to launch its fleet operations in 2019. As far as the operating system is concerned, it is going to use BlackBerry QNX for this purpose.BlackBerry QNX and Delphi both are the auto industry stalwarts. Both of them have focused on reconfiguring their businesses by focusing on the opportunity that has been represented by the advent of autonomous driving tech. Delphi had split its business, spinning of Powertrain arm and has started to primarily focus on the autonomy and high tech offerings. Whereas, BlackBerry has shifted its focus from infotainment solutions to software which underpins and secure self-driving. The partnership of these companies will benefit both of them. It will help them ensure to become key technology supply players as the automakers are moving towards automated vehicle deployment.
