Playkey raises $2.8M to fund its US expansion

Playkey is a game streaming service, and we saw it earlier this year at Disrupt NY. This startup has just closed an additional round of funding from Russian Internet Initiatives Development Fund (IIDF). This round of funding accumulated $2.8 Million for them.

About the IIDF:

The IIDF was created in 2013, by the suggestion of Vladimir Putin. It was established with the aim of strengthening Russian business infrastructure, and has already invested in 293 companies up till now. Whereas, the investments made doesn’t represent the involvement and support of the government in Playkey.

CEO of Playkey:

The CEO of the Playkey Egor Guriev says that, in last year there was an increase of 300% in the profits. Whereas, attendance on the Playkey gaming service is 1M people per month and it has got 400k users. The streaming startup Playkey which is actually Moscow-based, is planning to expand its services and resources to the United States, Western Europe and Asia.

What Playkey Offer to the Users?

The gamers can stream the Steam, Origin and Blizzard video games with the help of the 10 MBps internet connection on Playkey. They even don’t need any high-end gaming PC to do so. The well-recognized gaming corporations like Ubisoft, Bethesda, Capcom, Sega, Codemasters, and Plug In Digital are those, with whom Playkey is working.
