Angry Birds IPO expected to value parent Rovio at $1 billion

I think everyone of us already know about the Angry Birds? Don’t we? It certainly has been one of the well-known and most popular games since it was launched in 2009. Still enough number of people are playing it justify the IPO.The Finnish parent of this popular game, Rovio Entertainment is all set to go public in two weeks in Helsinki Nasdaq. The company would be valued around $1 billion, with the price range set for the IPO. The company was hoping for more than $2 billion initially but it didn’t make it happen. But it will considered to be a “Unicorn” if that goes public for each share at €10.25 to €11.50 which is being targeted by the company. The amount raised through this IPO would be around €30 million.

Success of Angry Birds:

The Angry Birds App is being downloaded 3.7 billion times so far. The app was launched in 2009 and turned out to be a huge success. This success leverage the company to even launch the Angry Birds movie last year, which also resulted to be good success. In the equity funding, the company raised about $42 million from Accel, Atomico, Felicis Ventures and some of the others.
