Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo provided details about the next generation iPhone camera. And the reports confirm rumors that stated that the next generations of iPhone XS and XS Max were going to have three cameras on the back.
The three cameras include:
- The main camera
- The 2X camera
- And an additional camera with an extremely wide 12 MP lens
Since Apple is competing with Android and Android has two cameras, it makes sense for Apple to go all out and provide more flexibility to the users.
To avoid the suspicious look of the lens, Apple may use a special coating. The updated version of the iPhone XR will feature two cameras and not one! For the front selfie camera, Apple is probably planning a massive upgrade for the selfie camera.
There is a possibility that the present sensor with four layers of glass could be swapped with five layers of glass. Moreover, the resolution bump to about 12 Megapixels is also expected. Excitingly, all three models are going to get the new selfie camera!
Other new features users will be seeing
In addition to the ultra-wide camera, the latest version of iOS and iPad will come forward with numerous new features. New gestures, changes to the volume popup and a universal 'dark mode' are some of the features iOS will be adding.
The 'dark mode’ might be similar to the 'dark mode' on the macOS Mojave and a system-wide option may be turned to use it. All those apps that support it will be able to switch to a dark mode the next time they're launched. However, the feature may be a complete waste in case third-party apps cannot support it.
Another surprising feature will allow users to open multiple windows of the same app on the iPad. Although there is a possibility to open two safari tabs currently, however, Apple seems to understand the needs of multitasking users as it allows card metaphors to replace the separate windows allowing them to be dismissed or stacked.
Minor improvements in the iOS 13 will hopefully make the iOS less frustrating! The new gestures for example; Contrary to the device shaking to undo actions, users will be able to swipe three fingers on the virtual keyboard to write or delete text.
Last but not least, the volume pop up may be leaving iOS, and we couldn’t be happier. It's expected to be replaced by something more subtle and simpler!
There seem to be many features iPhone is stepping up with to get back the revenue it lost, but only time will tell whether the features are YAY or NAY!
