You would’ve received a parking ticket if you own a car in one of the major cities with heavy traffic. The parking signs could be confusing. With Park Rangr you can get your work interpreted in shape of signage. It also ensures that you are about to leave your car in a good area and it would be easy for you to find it again.During the TechCrunch Disrupt SF Hackathon, one of the teams built this app in 24 hours. The process is really easy and straightforward. All you have to do is take the snapshot of the parking sign near your vehicle. The app will grab all the data related to spot restrictions so you can remain safe from receiving a ticket for parking at the spot where you were not supposed to.

Extra Features of the App:

The additional features this app provides you are, the crime rate of the particular area, maximum time to park your vehicle at the specific spot. So you can remain safe from receiving tickets and from crimes as well. With this app you could also come to know the walking scores of the area around you. Whenever you park your vehicle, the app will save your location so it can tell you how far the vehicle is from you? And how much it will take you to walk back to your car?

ARKit for AR Visualization:

The app also pinpoints your GPS location so it is easy for you to locate your vehicle with augmented reality. The Kevin Lay, Sid Bola, Nathanael Hardy and Ian McDowell of the Hackathon Group had used ARKit to bring the AR visualizations in the app to let know the car owner about the location of the car by using a floating marker.

Future Goals:

This group is already looking to add Park Rangr to app store in near future. They are also hoping to add push notifications so that the users keep getting alerts when they are supposed to get back to their vehicles.
