BMW to include Skype for Business in-car via iDrive

With the partnership of the Microsoft, BMW is trying to bring more productivity into its vehicles. It added the Office 365 features to the BMW 5 series in the last year. While this time around, it’s going to add Skype for Business in its cars for the purpose of infotainment features. This will enable the car drivers to connect to Skype for important Business meetings.

How it will work?

The integration of the Skype is going to be done in BMW’s i-Drive system. The users would be able to directly join Skype Business meetings. They would also be able to receive the alerts about the upcoming meetings. Other features they could avail will be the meeting change alerts, automatically starting the meeting without the driver’s manual dialing. Apart from this the Microsoft revealed that driver would be able to add the to-do tasks, integrate and manage the calendars, contacts with the vehicle voice and navigation services.

Service to Roll Out in Germany, France and the U.K:

This service is going to roll out in Germany, France and the U.K on an initial basis. Later on, the BMW will look to expand this in other markets as well. This certainly is one of the smart features, whose integration is completely focused on providing the satisfaction regarding the customer demand. The addition of the Skype Business calling in the BMW series will bring ease to the lives of many businessmen. BMW is interested in adding a lot more advanced smart features to its different upcoming series, it will be interesting to see what is going to come after Office 365 and Business Skype.
