Uber is under another lawsuit as the Brooklyn Centre of the disabled along with some other disability rights groups are suing it, because they think it is violating the New York City human rights. The issue was raised and the disability rights groups are suing the Uber Company as they say it doesn’t have enough wheelchair accessible cars.The disability rights group suggests that there is a clear lack of vehicles with Uber to carry away the disabled people who use wheelchairs. The company doesn't have sufficient number of vehicles to provide equal rights to the physically disable people.

Launch of Vehicle Service for Disables:

The company first of all launched the service of providing ride service to the disable people in 2014. While booking the ride, the passengers were supposed to pick UberASSIST and UberWAV that meant they need a wheelchair accessible car to pick them up for a ride. This service, though is not available in all the markets because for this Uber needs to do a partnership with the commercial providers. However, the company has recently expanded its accessibility service in the UK markets. This service is available now for the disabled people in sever markets of the U.K. The allegation has come up recently from multiple human rights organizations that, Uber is not justifying and ensuring the equal rights from both normal and disabled people. So, they are suing Uber for lack of rides for the disabled people.

The Uber Spokesperson said that: “Uber’s technology has expanded access to reliable transportation options for all riders, including those with disabilities and has enabled people with disabilities to earn income in new ways, while there is certainly more work to be done, we will continue advocating for a solution that offers affordable, reliable transportation to those who need a wheelchair accessible vehicle.”
