GraphicsFuzz is a service company intended to develop a framework for reliability and security testing of the Android graphics drivers. It was highlighted by the XDA Developers right at the day when Google announced the news of Android 9 Pie released. A spokesperson of the Google affirmed the news but did not provide further information related to the contract and price. The team of GraphicsFuzz, including the co-founder Alastair Donaldson, Paul Thomson and Hugues Evrard and will be the part of the team established to text the Android graphics technology – the Android ecosystem.
What is GraphicsFuzz?
It is the pioneering technology based on the combination of metamorphic testing and fuzzing in order to obtain a rapid method of graphics drivers testing automatically. The technology detects and fixes errors and bugs which can compromise security and reliability before the users get affected by it. The founders of the company initiated their struggle from the Department of Computing at Imperial College London where they received sustenance funding from the TETRACOM EU and the U.K. Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council project. While the acquisition of the driver-testing services is not a splashy new but it is an important one. It is because Android is getting more sophisticated and optimized in its graphics. The graphics drivers are one of the most important facture of the Android ecosystem which makes the smart devices work better. It is the thing which is noticed by the users at first glance. The most critical is that a broken graphics link can potentially expose the phone to security threats. The amazing fact about GraphicsFuzz is that uses the same technique of fuzzing which throws plenty of data at a specific program randomly. The method is getting higher popularity in the field of software development.
