Hulu has shared an update regarding its total subscriber at the end of 2017. The streaming service claims to have over 17 million subscribers. This is the total number of subscribers spread across on-demand and Live TV services. The last update on the number of subscribers was shared in May 2016. At that time Hulu had 12 million subscribers, and we can see a significant rise in the number of 5 million. Hulu also claimed that it has now reached 54 million unique viewers.

Comparison with Other Streaming Services

As compared to the growth of popular streaming services like Netflix and Spotify, Hulu’s growth seems the modest. Here the thing to remember is the Netflix and Spotify are Global streaming businesses. As far as the Hulu is concerned, it is still mostly US-based streaming service provider.

Hulu and Disney Ownership

There is a gigantic deal happening between Disney and 21st Century Fox. The success of that deal means Hulu will then fall under the ownership of Disney. Hulu has completely denied giving out any comments in this particular regard.
