Do you have an idea that you can order products from Amazon via Echo? It is preferably a convenient option but has some critical concerns too. If you have not purchased anything via Alexa, let us take a look at what essential things you must know before you try it.It is reported that while millions of people are buying Amazon-Alexa-powered devices for their homes like the Echo, only a fraction of those buyers uses it for making a purchase.
In the view of a report issued by The Information, it is evident that people who own Alexa powered devices are reluctant to use them for shopping purpose.
Alexa (Amazon’s virtual assistant) is a software that was marketed to make every day’s activities more comfortable to perform. These everyday tasks include taking notes, shopping online or playing music.
But the report revealed the fact that only around 2% of Alexa users used them for online shopping in 2018.
And even 2% who have shopped via this technology didn’t use it further for purchasing any product.
There is no visible record of the number of Alexa-powered devices being sold by Amazon, but The Information puts that number around 50 million.
In reality, as very few individuals are using Alexa enabled devices for online shopping, Amazon is not able to recognize any significant trend in their shopping behavior.
It was generally expected that these devices would be used by people to shop online, but in fact, this did not happen. As even in this technologically advanced era, buyers prefer to look at items before making a purchase. They tend to check reviews, go around to find a better price range etc.
So, generally, people are unlikely to buy something via their Echo.
While Amazon’s virtual assistant is launched to make life easier and smart, people are not comfortable yet with buying things online by using their voice commands.
