The QTrobot is a revolutionary invention by the LuxAIintended to bridge the gap between autistic kids and therapists. It is because the robot has come with the features of robotic arms and a pleasant LCD face allowing the children to communicate and play with it.The objective is to allow the children to get accustomed to human contact in a comfortable manner. It is imperative to note that autism is a disorder hindering the children to make active communication and relationships with others.
The producer of the QTrobot, LuxAI is a by-product of the University of Luxembourg. The invention is expected to be released through the interface of the conference which is going to be held this month.
According to Aida Nazarikhorram (Co-founder) while describing the product to IEEE:
“The robot has the ability to create a triangular interaction between the human therapist, the robot, and the child. Immediately the child starts interacting with the educator or therapist to ask questions about the robot or give feedback about its behavior.”
The most amazing fact to note about this robot is that it helps the children to get rid of anxiety and stress while interacting with the people around them. Gradually, the autistic kids become able to make cordial relations. However, the process is kept slow in order to make the children feel comfortable and comfortable with the QTrobot.
Interestingly, the parents and psychologists are considering the invention as the most significant gadget to improve learning especially when it is compared to others available in the market.
Nevertheless, the QTrobot is programmable and self-contained. So, it is expected that the findings of the research done on this robot so far will open new avenues of autism treatment.
