Yeah, that’s true. The drones would now be used to exchange different samples between the hospitals. Two of the hospitals in Switzerland have been testing the use of the drone to transport the samples from one hospital to another. That is a really unbelievable advancement for the quick sample movements among different hospitals.Since March 2016, the Swiss company has conducted almost 70 test flights among the two hospitals, and they have been recorded as successful. Now they are planning for the establishment of regular such service by 2018, to improve the quality and service of hospitals sample movements. It is really good, as at time the sample movement gets stuck in traffic because of the heavy traffic rush hours.
The company revealed that the medical staff will be trained about how to launch a drone with the mobile application. They will put the samples in safety box and when the box is ready, they will simply launch the drone with the application. The drone will travel on a predefined route automatically. The staff member at the other end (In other Hospital) will receive the sample box.
These specially made drones have the capacity of holding up to 2 kilogram material. Whereas, they can travel 20 kilometers far and can catch up the speed of 36 Kilometer per hour.
This will be a great addition in the Medical field once it is ready to be practiced commonly between hospitals. It will take the things to much more advanced level and the movement of the samples will also speed up.
