The Fake Movie titles and subtitles are the latest way through which the hackers get access and control over your desktop. That’s how, your system is attacked and you get notified about the attack once it has done its infection. This issue mostly occurs with those who are using VLC and Popcorn players.

Infected Subtitle Files:

It has been found that the malformed subtitles allow the hackers to embed their code in it. They can then use these subtitles in the pirated movies and TV serials. It is difficult to know which video files are infected ones as they are usually accepted and trusted by most of the video players.

How Hackers Attack Using Subtitles?

The infected video allows the attackers to access the machine where the video is being played using a media player. While the video is played, the TinyVNC is activated which provides the hackers a path to connect to the desktop. So they can silently perform the hacking.

A New Malware, A New Headache!

So in malware, another way of infecting the desktops and PCs has been discovered by hackers. It is difficult to understand and find which videos could be the infected ones. Thus, it can be a real threat and headache for the people in recent times. As their systems could easily be accessed and hacked because of it.
