Today an announcement was made by the Samsung Electronics that it is going to recycle different parts of Samsung Note7s. The reason behind this recycling is the battery defect reports that have been claimed to burst some Note7s devices into flames. So, finally via its Korean site the company has said that it is going to recover the 157 tons of rare metals which will also include the gold-metal from other devices.

Sales Suspension of Samsung Galaxy Note7s:

The sale of the Samsung Galaxy Note7s was suspended last year in September because of the repeated reports of the device’s bursting into flames. However, in March the company said that it is going to refurbish the Galaxy Note7 smartphone series and make it available for sale yet again, instead of just throwing them away.

Refurbishing Components:

Samsung has said in its announcement, that it will be recovering components like OLED, Display Modules, Memory Chips and the Camera Modules from Galaxy Note 7s to reuse, repair and recycle them. The rare metals, such as copper, cobalt and gold will also be recovered during the process of recycling. This is the time when Samsung is facing a huge and unique PR challenge as its Galaxy Note7s model has been reported occasionally about the explosion. Now, after the refurbishing and the relaunch of the Samsung Galaxy Note7s, it will be an interesting situation to look at if the company successfully overcomes the device’s occasional blasting situation or not.
