It was announced by FAA back in December 2015 that every drone owner has to register his device weighing more than 0.55 pounds. The defenders of the rule were some of the well-known tech companies like Amazon and Google. Apart from them Intel and DJI, the drone industry players were also amongst the new law’s supporters.

Some Upset Faces:

There were some upset faces as well amongst all, when the news regarding this new law arrived. A lot of customers, especially the veterans with the hobby and experience in flying RC Aircraft were also amongst the list of the people who were actually upset about the new law. One drone owner even didn’t hesitate to take FAA to the court. The argument from his side was that FAA doesn’t have any jurisdiction over toy drones.

Latest Registration Rule:

It was like a second life for the registration rule yesterday. The law was signed into law to make it the part of the National Defense Authorization Act.  It is a big win for the industry as the legislators will have broader power for the FAA as a footnote in a much larger bill.
