It has been announced by Scopely that it was able to raise $60 Million in their recent Crowd Funding Series. This round of CF was led by Revolution Growth. It is a firm that AOL executives Steve Case and Ted Leonsis led. Whereas AOL, which targets the startups outside Silicon Valley and New York also owns TechCrunch.

Scopely Recent Funding Round Joiners:

Scopely’s headquarter is in Los Angeles. Whereas, Donn Davis from the Revolution would also be joining the Scopely board of directors. While when we look around the new joining in the recent round, the Greenspring, Sands Capital Ventures, Cross Creek Advisors and Pritzker Group Venture Capital have also joined.

What is Scopely?

Scopely has built a platform for the promotion and monetization of mobile games. The big titles included in the games featured under its belt are: Walking Dead, Road to Survival, wheel of Fortune Free Play and WWE Champions. The company has said that it has reached the players in excess of 125 Million for The Walking Dead, it also claimed to have generated the revenue of hundreds of Millions dollars annually.

The CEO Walter’s Remarks:

The CEO Walter Driver said that it’s less than a year, Scopely went on for the second Crowd Funding. His remarks were that when the company is already so much profitable, then why was there a need of raising more funds. What his words were, are stated below:  “This capital infusion will enable us to expand the business through inorganic means while we continue to execute on our path of organic growth in parallel,” Driver said. “The opportunity to work with the founding team of AOL is extremely exciting for us as they have a long history of operating at the intersection of technology and media.” When we have a look at total number of the amount raised, "Scopely has raised nearly $160 million in total funding".
