A new startup Travelstop is recently launched in Singapore. It is aimed at bringing the business travel management benefits to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) of Southeast Asia.
The company has started its operation on 27th August 2018 after being established by eminent entrepreneurs known for their previous work on  TravelMob, Prashant Kirtane (CEO), Vijay Aggarwal (CTO) and Altaf Dhamani (CPO).  It was done as the part of HomeAway in 2013.  After that, they worked on another startup Expedia in 2015 generating around $3.9 billion. However, Travelstop is the first adventure on which they are working independently.
Kirtane in his interview told the people at approximately 90% of the business trips in Asia are unmanaged.  The surprising thing to note is that it entirely accounts for around 40% of the $1.2 trillion business tour market across the globe. He further added that Travelstop is vowed to innovate the rigid system of business travel by managing it optimally.
The primary focus of the startup is to keep everything simple and easy. Therefore, the Slack is selected for design modelling with essential features of automation, report generation based on collected data. The characteristic of clean UI and flexibility of expense management are also integrated into the system.
It goes without doubt that all this is missing in all the systems operating in Southeast Asia. So, it is highly appealing for curious startups and SMEs in local and global markets.
“Many other tools corporate tools are still rudimentary and haven’t progressed,” Kirtane added. “We’re looking to reach mid-size tech companies first, but the – longer-term proposition is to let employees onboard themselves.”
