Uber Accidently Underpaid the New York Drivers

A recent statement has arrived from the Uber, as it admitted to have underpaid the New York drivers during the past two and half years. Last Friday, the way a driver can see his earnings was announced nationwide by Uber. During the announcement, they said, “the company has realized that it has been underpaying the New York Drivers”.

Uber Driver Agreement 2014:

The 2014 Driver Agreement of the Uber states that it is supposed to cut the 25 percent of the fares a driver earns. But recent calculations revealed that they were accidentally deducting more from them in the New York City. Up till now, Now York is the only city where Uber has been able to find that it was deducting more from its drivers by mistake. But the Uber has also said that it will be refunding those extra charges to the drivers along interests.

Statement of the General Manager:

Uber Regional General Manager of U.S. and Canada Rachel Holt said in a statement. “We are working hard to regain driver trust, and that means being transparent, sticking to our word, and making the Uber experience better from end to end.”

Refund of the Inactive Drivers:

The drivers who haven’t been able to take a trip during the last 90 days will be notified through an email about the total amount which Uber is supposed to pay them. They can later get this refund any time they want.
