Skype Update: You Can have 50 Participants in a Group Call

Recently Apple’s has updated their FaceTime group feature with 32 people at the same time, and Skype has capitalized on the struggle of Apple by updating the group feature. The company has made an announcement that the number of people who can participate in a group call is increasing. Previously, Skype only supported 25 people in a video and audio group call. But now with the new update, the number has doubled up and 50 people can become the part of a group call simultaneously.
The competition between these smartphone apps has increased over the years. With this update, Skype tops the other apps with calling features such WhatsApp, Google Hangouts and Instagram. Skype is not designed as any other messaging apps, but they are used mostly for official businesses and meetings. Facebook messenger app also allows 50 people, but the drawback is that only screen of the speaker is shower after more than 7-8 people have joined in.
FaceTime is close to Skype, but there have been security issues reported in the app where users can eavesdrop even before the calls were picked up. Apple responded to that immediately and fixed the bug. Such problems have not been reported with the Skype update. Interestingly, when the group has 25 people or less, then you can actually call them on Skype all at once. But if the group is bigger than 25  people, then a notification will be sent out to join the call. If you want to use this feature in that case you need to update the Skype to the latest version.
Happy Calling!
